Time to get excited: We are almost 3 months away from the Land Run 50k.

Let’s start thinking about our training. This is a 50k. Fifty Kilometers. Thats 31.0686 miles. 4.86 miles more than a marathon. It is going to be a long day for most of us. That is why we’ve put together a training schedule for the community.

Now, this training schedule is not ours. We were not the athletic/technology geniuses that came up with this. We found it using the training schedule tool from the Santa Clara running group:

http://www.scrunners.org/ultramarathon-training-schedule-generator.html

Here is the schedule for our race, on March 11th, 2017:

Just a few things we want to mention:

– This schedule was designed for the weekend warriors out there. If you’re in an industry that allows for days off during the week, schedule accordingly. The long runs are the meat-and-potatoes of this training plan. Please try not to skip them.

– Lastly, rest is SUPER important. We’ve scheduled Mondays and Fridays as rest days. If you feel like you can live with one rest day a week, go for it. You’re a beast.

Finally, we’ve put together a .csv file of our 50k training schedule. That way, you can add it to any calendar that you prefer to use. Click below for a direct download.

Not sure how to add a .csv file to iCal or Google Calendar? Here are some resources:

Churn and Burn running and the Stillwater-based STARR running group will be sponsoring weekly running groups for these long runs. Stay tuned to both of our facebook pages for updates.

We can’t wait to see everyone on race day!
